Summer Opportunities Positions Available Group Head Counselors – Age 21+ The head camp counselor assists and helps to supervise other counselors in their group. Therefore, they need to be responsible, patient, dependable, mature, independent and able to make decisions and act with integrity. They should also have enthusiasm and display a positive attitude as a role model for both campers and other counselors. A love of children is essential to the job. Head camp counselors must have experience working with children in 2nd – 9th grade and generally may have prior experience as camp counselors. Group Counselors – Age 18+ In our Pre-K to Kindergarten groups Typical duties include ensuring children safety, offering emotional support, greeting new campers, and implementing camp rules. Working in our woodworking activity is special as you get to encourage our campers to be creative and build new skills. Of course, safety is top priority in the woodshop. Rope Course Head Specialist – Must be 21+ The ropes course specialist leads staff and camper groups through the progression of initiatives and low and high elements and the debriefing process, while ensuring the safety of the participants. Must be knowledgeable in bilaying and ropes course techniques and certification from Project Adventure or AEE. Will train. Tie Dye Head Specialist – Must be 21+ Our Tie Dye Activity is so popular at Nobles day Camp. We are looking for someone with knowledge the different patterns of tie dying or willing to learn. Aquatics (Lifeguards) – Age 18+ Supervises swimming activities at our pools and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed. All new applications will be reviewed starting January 1st. Camp staff members are selected from the surrounding communities. Many are teachers at various public and independent schools, parents, as well as college and high school students who have proven experience working with children. We pride ourselves on hiring a dedicated, energetic staff diverse in age and background. Staff members must love working with children and must understand their responsibility to be positive role models for our campers as they learn to enjoy recreation in a non-competitive atmosphere, respect the rights of others and take positive risks in a fun and caring environment. All new staff must be a minimum of 18 years old by June 1st, AND available all 8 weeks of camp as well as the pre-season training dates. Our 2021 season is June 28 – August 20, 2021. Parents have the right to review background check policies, health care policies, discipline policies and grievance procedures upon request. Nobles Day Camp is a great place to work with a very high staff return rate every year, which limits the number of positions open each summer.
