CISD is a good place to work. There are many routes that have served the district for 10+ years. The administration strives to push the students and staff. I can understand why once employed, people choose to stay and retire. Pros Monday through Friday work schedule Cons There's no paid holidays Typical school day began at 6:30 AM with daily preparation of lesson plans followed by wanding of students for weapons or contraband upon their arrival at 8:00 AM. Daily schedule continued with physical education activities and then commencement of grade- level academic teaching until dismissal at 4:00 PM. Usual class size was 30 students, all attending this school because of disciplinary infractions. Worked an additional 3 hours daily on report and evaluation paperwork required by the School District management. Attended meetings with other educators and management. Confrontation with student- initiated physical violence and threats to personal safety were the most difficult aspect of this job.
